The staff were polite. The beach was beautiful. My room was upgraded for free.The photos on Booking.com are misleading. The resort is currently in bad shape. I was upgraded to a supposedly better room but there was rusted door lock, door handle and cracked window. All linens and beddings smelled damp and old, I had to request for fresh ones. There was a small pool, a small restaurant with very limited menu and nothing else. No bar/club. (They seemed to be reopening the beach club on the day I checked out.) No mini bar. No room service. I asked for food and beer and 10 pm and the staff said there was neither available in the resort. Staff were polite and they tried their best but all they could say were "sorry, due to covid-19...". I was looking for a relaxing stay at the resort, i stead, I had to travel miles to either Da Nang or Hoi An to get beers and cocktails!!! If I had known that I was being offered bed and breakfast service, not international 5-star resort I would not have chosen Melia Da Nang for this stay. I understand that they are recovering from Covid-19 but if the resort is taking customers, please provide the basic services at least. Again thr information and the photos were totally misleading. Oh and even though the beach was beautiful, there was trash. And you are not allowed to swim when there's no staff from the resort watching, which is like most of the time. I saw two other guests being pulled out of the beach by the coast guards for that reason.
.I stayed here 3 years ago and loved it. But not the same now due to Covid. Most of the facilities were closed and lots of construction. The food menu very restrictive, this was extremely disappointing. Definitely not worth the cost at this time, check before you come.
Staff were accomodating.It was the first week open after covid shut down. The hotel was not ready for guests. Felt like we were in a construction site. No restaurants or bars open. Pools had green slime on floor and walls. Only small area of resort was open. Not many lights in garden area made it unappealing. Didn't even look like the resort was open when we arrived. Gardens were very bad condition. Room fridge didn't work. Balcony door didn't lock, but they fixed that quickly when we raised it with staff. Power socket beside bed did not work. We require power for CPAP machines and had to sleep without our medical equipment for the first night as there were no staff at reception after 10pm. It was fixed the next day but is not good for health. Mould in the showers is not to the standard of a five star hotel. Not ready for guests to enjoy a resort style stay.
