Perhaps its usually outstanding standard will return post covid-19.
Overall, I love this hotel. I have never stayed in a hotel more than once but have stayed at the Sala hotel three times. Each time I have upgraded my room type from deluxe, to Sala suite to premium suite. In my opinion, they are all fantastic. The bath in both the Sala suite and premium suite is the best! It does take a while to fill, but worth it! The views are incredible and I love the smell of the bath and shower gels. Unfortunately, my recent visit didn't quite meet my expectations in comparison with the first two.This was my partners first stay at the hotel and I couldn't wait for him to enjoy the usually amazing breakfast but the breakfast this time was very disappointing. The bread was stale, the cheese had dried out and hardened, the salad leaves were dry and shrivelled looking. There was significantly less choice and the quality of it was sub-standard. I was given the option of some vegetable noodles which was ok but dripping in oil which wasn't so good. I was almost embarrassed to have been so excited for this moment versus the reality of it. Overall, the service was not on par with what it usually is which was very disappointing. I am unsure as to whether or not the difference was because my Vietnamese partner was present this time. I sincerely hope that is not the case. In general, I felt 'watched' during this visit which was a little unsettling.
