I loved my stay at the Imperial Hué Hotel from the moment I walked in to the moment I left. Doorman took charge of my luggage even before I had got out of my taxi and a very lovely young lady, looking elegant in her traditional áo dái, escorted me to the rather grand reception. Check-in was incredibly efficient; with a surprise upgrade. I was soon being shown around my room by the same lovely lady. The room was massive: a gigantic double bed that was sleep heaven; a seating area; TV and luggage stands; lots of storage space, a safety deposit box; lots of free space; and a complimentary minibar! Complimentary fruit was delivered a little latter. The spacious bathroom had both bath and walk-in shower and was well stocked with rather nice complimentary toiletries and big, white, fluffy towels. You have the option of inside or outside seating at the top floor restaurant. Outside affords uninterrupted views of the Perfume River and the Cầu Trường Tiền Bridge. Dinner on the second evening was delicious. Breakfast was excellent, again with the option of inside/outside seating. The gym was rather compact; the pool spacious. Within the hotel is the Royal Spa; a must visit when staying at the hotel. Go for the VIP room with its own private steam room and hydro spa bath and, if visiting as a couple, side by side massage tables. The 90-minute aromatherapy massage is the perfect end to a long day visiting the site of Hué.Unfortunately, the meal in the restaurant on the first night was a very mediocre pizza, saturated with cheese and rather tasteless. At leases the draft beer was ice cold!
