Recognized as a UNESCO world heritage site in 1993, this city is famous for its magnificent architecture. Its citadel, palaces, pagodas and royal tombs frame a poetic background of greenery on the banks of the Perfume River. At 7:30 am we start our ride to the Citadel, a former Palace for living and Central Government of the Nguyen Kings (feudal system) from 1802 - 1945 in Vietnam. After spending time in the Imperial City, we will visit Thien Mu, one of the oldest pagoda in Hue. This pagoda is often the subject of folk rhymes and Ca Dao about Hue, such is its iconic status and association with the city. We will then cross the Perfume River to Vong Canh Hill, where we will see one of the best views of the Perfume River. We continue on riding through the rolling hills of the surrounding countryside where we will find the Royal Tombs of the Nguyen Emperors. We will visit the Tu Duc and Khai Dinh tombs. After viewing the splendid landscaped gardens and ornate architecture of the King's' final resting places we will cycle to the city for a well deserved foot massage. Here the tour will end.
