The resort had direct access to a beautiful beach and our room was cleaned twice.daily. Staff were friendly and warm. The spa service was wonderful, and staff at the kids club amazing! The food.options were somewhat limited, which was a factor for us as there are few food choices nearby. As we were travelling with young kids we spent a lot of time in the hotel and ended up eating the same thing. There was a mixup with the payment. When I checked in, I was told that the deposit would be deducted from.the final bill. At checkout, I was told they wouldnt be able to do so and would follow up with the bank for the deposit refund. I requested.to get this in writing, and was told that they would follow up with an email instead, immediately. It has been almost 3 days and I have yet to receive anything from.the hotel.
Breakfast Multiple pools Well sized clean rooms Child friendly Great sunset views.overpriced food and beverage Room service and restaurant food just above average Floaters to buy at resort (ridiculous that resort does not provide them for free, it’s not as if guests will run away with your floats)!!! Fridge almost non functional in room (and we had to change 2 rooms in a 3N/4D stay and this was case for both rooms) Inadequate no of water bottles
My favorite things were the swimming pools. There are several pools on the property and with different styles. I love the infinity pools overlooking the ocean. I also liked my room....I had an upstairs villa where I could sit on my balcony and see the ocean and one of the swimming pools. The bed was large and very comfortable; there was wi-fi throughout the property, which worked. I loved the restaurant by the ocean - the view was stunning and the food was amazing there every time! I was able to check out several other hotels in the same area and have to say that the value for money at Melia was very excellent comparatively.I didn't like that the hotel didn't give much of a personal touch...although the staff are friendly and helpful when they have the time, they are usually swamped with busloads of tourists. Obviously, the hotel caters to groups of Japanese and Korean tourists (as do most of the hotels in that area)...but I feel it makes them over-anxious and they don't do well serving single travelers or even small families that are not on a tour. I also didn't like that the staff kick you out of the pools at night. There were signs saying "No lifeguard; swim at your own risk" but I took that to mean you could swim at your own risk. But I got kicked out of the pools almost every night. :) It's lovely to swim in the pools and listen to the ocean even at 8 or 9 at night....the hotel should allow this...and even keep one of the pool bars open to promote it.
