The food was good, I guess, but didn’t make up for the rest of it.Where do I even begin? The first practical issue was the crappy air-con. It didn’t even cool half the room, and I couldn’t sleep most of the night as a result. Secondly, the staff were either incompetent or dishonest—I’m not sure which. The check-out agent attempted to scam me on my way out by charging me for free water, and tacking a 2% fee to my credit card. Newsflash: if you put “boutique” in your hotel’s name, you shouldn’t pass the cost of doing business on to your customers. Third, the location isn’t great for sightseeing. While the hotel is close, ostensibly, to the airport and train station, it’s quite a way’s from the river and very far from the beach. Finally, on a superficial note, I thought the decor of the hotel missed the mark a bit. They obviously put a lot of effort into it, but Japanese art seems confusing in a Vietnamese hotel.
The staff was amazing and super friendly, went out of their way to help us with private car shuttle and food for our baby. The complimentary drink each day at the roof top bar was amazing and we enjoyed the view. The room was huge and a crib for our baby was provided, which was very nice. One of the reasons we booked this hotel was for the pool, which we couldn't use as the water was dirty. This was a big disappointment for us. A pool should not be listed if it is not maintained. Really uncomfortable bed. No ground level entrance, had to carry all stuff and stroller up several flights.
Rooms are spacious. Bathroom big with big shower space. I did not order breakfast, I paid separate for it on two occasions and found it wonderful, mushrooms were excellent. Roof top was lovely. Staff/manager changed my room for a better internet connected room. Close to city centre and to airport. Great car service to visit Hoi An and to get to airport.Noise from above- the chairs need 'shoes' as other guests tended to drag chairs across the floor. Staff tried their best to help. Also, a plumber is needed as the water pipes make repeated noises throughout the early am hours. This kept me from sleeping.
