The breakfast is delicious. The room is comfortable and clean.

I’ve stayed at numerous hostels in different countries. Japan, Taiwan, Scotland, Malaysia. As a Singaporean, honestly I have very high standards and I may be quite picky when it comes to comfort. I expect a good, clean bed in a safe accommodation, which has comfortable facilities such as a hot shower and plus minus a breakfast area. Soleil hostel has exceeded ALL of my expectations and I’m very impressed with my stay here. Undoubtedly it’s the BEST hostel that I’ve ever stayed in across all my backpacking trips. If I may exaggerate, it was even better than a hotel stay. I made friends with the counter staff and my roommate (only 1 other person sharing the dorm at my time of stay). Other reviews have made certain comments about the property. I would like to debunk/ clarify them so that future guests may choose to make an informed decision. 1. Before I came here, I saw reviews stating that there are ants on the 4th floor (where the dorm beds are). I was apprehensive, so I did request to stay on another floor (to no avail, as I chose the dorm and there’s only 1 dorm which is located on the 4th floor). But I didn’t see any ants so no issue for me. The room is clean and cosy, no bugs or whatever. 2. Property is location in a “far” / “hard to find” location. Yes that’s kind of true but I would like point out that it’s located in a new estate (which means it’s safer and quieter at night!) Also, in this day and age of Google Maps and Grab Bike, distance shouldn’t be much of a problem at all. For me, I just took Grab Bike to and fro when arriving and leaving the property. 3. Beds are VERY comfortable and aircon is great. The dorm room looks true to the pictures uploaded by the hostel (yes it looks very modern, clean and cosy). 4. Some guests have complained about the breakfast food. Honestly I thought it was fantastic. Perhaps it was because I only had a short stay. There are 3 choices for breakfast, omelette, fried noodles and fried rice.There’s no lift, and the dormitory room is located on the 4th floor. Not a problem at all for fit backpackers.
