The location is about 20-30 mins walk from the main attractions (Imperial City, Dong Ba market etc) while 5 mins away is a local market and some secondhand clothes shops (Vietnamese sizes run small). There’s a lady across the street about 3-5 mins that sells bun mam nem, banh cuon, banh loc etc, but my favourite there was the banh nam. No English but she is honest with pricing, which can’t be said of many in Vietnam. The lady hotel manager is helpful and friendly, probably a little overly so if I hadn’t read prior reviews and expected it. They helped keep our luggage after checkout and book flights and an airport transfer as well. I booked a triple room since it was cheaper but let them know I am ok to switch to a twin bed as long as it’s the same price, and they did. No elevator but they help with bags. Still, as I was travelling with my dad, I appreciated that they let us have a lower floor. The rooms are technically no smoking but they allow smoking in the corridor (like 1-3m from the room door lol) so beware the smoke may enter the room through the main door. I let the manager know I am sensitive to cigarette smoke and she agreed to have the smoking table/ashtray removed from the tiny hallway for one night. Road-facing rooms can be a little noisy when traffic starts but nothing too bad for me. Rooms and facilities are a little dated but really such a good value with (simple) breakfast included. Beds were comfortable!When we wanted to book same-day flights to Hanoi, the manager almost tried to fudge me by saying I wouldn’t be able to book in time online since it’s already the same day. But she quickly changed her tune when she read my sceptical expression, and instead focused on the convenience aspect by including an airport transfer. There’s a markup of course and I get that everyone needs to earn a living but really no need to fudge. Might work on older folks but anyone younger used to smartphones and travel would know the truth.

Just steps away from the hot spot but quiet at night. Very good value for money.

Staff were amazing at this hotel, really made for a positive stay. Rooms were decent, clean and spacious. Good hot water. Breakfast was also good.The lady host is super-friendly, super-accommodating and super-funny. Everything in the room is spotlessly clean. Hot water system works well.
