The pool is amazing. So nice and quiet. Very beautiful with trees surrounded en the sound of birds and crickets. Did a 3h spa. The massage was amazing! The lady worked miracles. I think I fell asleep. Felt good. She was very professional. Breakfast is good. Variety to choose from. Bed is huge and comfortable. We had een upgrade to the bungalow for only $10 a night. GM Christy is an amazing and attentive woman. She texts you right away and asked if we needed anything. She made sure we got to the city (shuttle bus already left) with no charge. She really knows what service and hospitality is. Very experienced and has eye for details. The Pilgrimage should be very grateful to have here as a staff member. Such people are very rare.Even though the accomodation looks very beautiful. Tucked away in a lush green like forest. With trees and sound of animals. There are a few little things that made our stay less pleasant. First of all the staff. They really and I mean really need training. Thank God for Christy, because the rest doesn’t know how to act in a 5 star resort. For example: My husband got a complimentary 30 min spa. Since we wanted an extended treatement of 3h (which was very expensieve, even for European standards, but what the heck, it’s our holliday) we asked if they could arrange a different price instead of the 30 min spa. Since we would pay about 6.000.000 VD, we thought it would be a great idea if they could deduct one of the treatments. Just a small gesture. My husband didn’t want an extensions of 30 min (since it already took 3 hours long) and we were going to leave the next morning. So the lady at the spa had to check with her manager. She went on her computer and said nothing for a few minutes. Just typing in silence. After 5 min (which is long if you don’t know what’s going on) we asked her what she was doing. She told us she was chatting with the reception on her computer. Great! Why didn’t you tell us? Guide us trough your proces or ask us to go have a cup of tea. But do not let us sit in front of you in silence without saying anything. I mean this kind of little things were very anoying. When we asked her what she was doing she even looked crossed as if we we wrong for not reading her mind. Conclusion: no discount on her behalf. Christy took take of us and arranged a half price for transfer to the airport (bless her). Other example: when we arrived there were no bottles of water in the room. The bellboy told us they would bring water. We waited and waited. After 5 hours we took a small bottle (same as the complimentary one) from the mini bar. As we checked out (after paying extra €300 for food, drinks and spa) the lady at the reception told us we had to pay for the water.
