In a real neighborhood, not touristy area. Down a quiet alley. Good breakfast. The owner had a dinner one night for all the guests- 6 of us. Was a nice gesture and fun to get to know the other guests. Our room was clean and comfortable. The first of three days we asked the owner if he could get our train tickets to Danang and he happily agreed. The second day I asked about the tickets and he had forgotten, but said no problem. The third day we were leaving and he said we could get the tickets at the train station. It turned out fine and we got our own tickets, but I wish he would have told us that from the start and saved me the following up and worrying.
We had a wonderful stay with our host and his family. It was great to have breakfast prepared every morning to get the day started and he even invited us to homemade dinner twice during our stay. Dinner was a wonderful opportunity to chat with our host and meet the other guests. We really, really enjoyed this part of our stay. The room was clean, the bed was comfortable, the view of the lake was gorgeous, and the shower was hot with good pressure. We had a big comfortable room with a lovely old table we used for work. We loved the area; there are wonderful and inexpensive cafes nearby and the local food was much better than in the more touristic places across the river (about a 30 minute walk or a quick taxi away). However, we like to walk. For people who want bars and more tourist friendly restaurants right outside, this may not be the best area for you. We would absolutely stay here again. The wifi was inconsistent and cut out at times. This could be due to our room location on the top floor. Also, we weren't given a key to the main entrance (just our room). We never had a problem with being locked out, but it was still a new arrangement for me.
