Staff here were nice in helping me book transportation to the airport. The complementary breakfast, though very simple (eggs, bread, and coffee), was a nice touch. It's always good to have a fridge in the room.(I stayed in a private "deluxe" room.) Located on one of the main backpacker streets with many other hostels and bars, I could hear noise from the street (and from other guests on the balcony outside my window) until late at night. The locks on the room doors are very rickety and I did not feel secure leaving my belongings in my room. The tiny bathtub is terribly designed and uncomfortable to even stand in; the shower head is poorly positioned; hot water lasts about 5 minutes (but careful! it comes out scaldingly hot); the sink faucet spays water everywhere. And it's all a bit grimy. I regret not spending a few more dollars per night on something nicer.
At least the hostel is cheap, relatively. Our worst experience so far in Vietnam. I tried to reach out to the staff to ask for help (both time I kindly asked them in advance to arrange is a taxi). They were not helpful at all, and after our check out we waited 20mins for a taxi ( lady was booking just then, whereas I asked her ám hour advance). When we told her that we will miss our train , she reacted "oh", which showed us the experience She didn't even care. This is a very low budget hostel, with no community place nor a shared kitchen. Only rooms. Also the fascilty doesnt have elevator and we were placed on the 4th floor, which is not the best with luggages. Also the breakfast is not so much. The rooms are okeyish, however our toilet was broken, and not so clean. In general even though it was cheap, many things could have been better. Especially the hospitality.
